Who provides electrical service to the septic area for an aerobic system, and what's required?

Two separate questions get tangled here: who is *allowed* to do the electrical work, and who *pays* for it.
On the first, Texas licensing law generally requires electrical work to be performed by a licensed electrician. What a given county inspects or asks to see varies, so confirm locally rather than assuming. In practice this is one of the few places where hiring a contractor who holds both licenses removes a coordination problem entirely — we are master electricians, so the electrical and the septic are the same crew and the same schedule.
On the second, no state rule assigns who provides or pays for power to the septic area. It gets settled between the builder, the owner and the installer, and it is worth nailing down in writing before anyone breaks ground.
On breaker size, ignore the number you read online. Requirements come from the manufacturer of the specific treatment unit, not from a rule. Some units call for a 30-amp circuit; the ones we typically install need 20 amps. Check the spec sheet for the unit actually going in the ground.
